FURNITURE CUSTOMISATION AT ROOMA

One of a kind furniture
designed by you.

Get the chance to design a piece of high quality furniture
uniquely fabricated to adapt to your lifestyle.

Step one

Send an Enquiry

Have a design in mind? Fill out our online form to give us a little more information on your dream furniture. Including imageries, dimensions and desired material(s) is ideal for a more accurate quotation.

STEP TWO

Receive a Quotation

Once you've sent through details of your dream furniture, our sales team will get in touch to clarify on your enquiry. We'll further discuss on the goals and details for your custom piece, and then proceed to scope and quote your project.

STEP THREE

Make a Deposit

Once you're happy with the quote and have made the final decision to customize with Rooma, we'll proceed to process an invoice with a detailed breakdown of costs, including delivery, assembly (if any) and project lead time (12 -15 weeks). The amount to be deposited is typically 50%, or a full payment can also be made.

STEP FOUR

Technical Drawings & Renderings

After confirmation of deposit, we'll proceed to draft technical drawings and renderings for your perusal, to be confirmed and signed off before fabrication.

STEP FIVE

Manufacture & Fabrication

As each furniture is handcrafted in Indonesia, the project lead time to anticipate is typically between 12 to 15 weeks or earlier upon approval. Within this period you can expect to receive regular updates on the progress each step of the way. We will notify you 10 to 14 days prior to the arrival of your furniture in Singapore to set a suitable delivery date.

STEP SIX

Full Payment, Delivery and Assembly

Prior to the proposed delivery date, we require the remaining full payment to be made in order to confirm a time slot. Our experienced in-house team will then fulfill the delivery and installation (if any), ensuring that your new bespoke custom furniture sits beautifully in your home.

FAQs

Orders & Customisation

Can I customise the dimensions of my furniture?

Yes. Most of our furniture is handcrafted, allowing us to customise dimensions, materials, finishes and, in many cases, design details to suit your space and requirements. Simply share your floor plan or desired measurements with our team, and we will advise you on the available options.

Can I choose a different wood finish, marble or rattan colour?
Absolutely. We offer a wide selection of solid wood species, stains, natural finishes, marble, sintered stone, fabrics and rattan webbing options. Our team will be happy to recommend combinations that best complement your home.

What is the lead time for custom orders?
As every piece is made with care by skilled artisans, production typically takes 8 to 12 weeks, although many orders are completed earlier. Larger projects or highly customised designs may require additional time.

Materials & Craftsmanship

Why is every piece slightly different?
No two pieces of solid wood are identical. Natural variations in grain, colour, knots and texture are part of the beauty of genuine timber and make every piece uniquely yours.

Will solid wood expand, shrink or develop hairline cracks?
Yes. Solid wood is a living natural material that naturally expands and contracts as humidity and temperature change throughout the year. This movement is completely normal and expected.

You may notice:
Slight movement at joints or panels, minor gaps or seasonal expansion, small surface or hairline cracks, and light changes in colour as the wood ages.

These are natural characteristics of solid wood and are not manufacturing defects. In fact, they are a hallmark of authentic timber furniture.

Is rattan a natural material?
Yes. Natural rattan is handwoven from renewable materials and may vary slightly in colour, weave and texture. Over time, it will develop a beautiful natural patina with use.

Furniture Care & Maintenance

How should I care for my solid wood furniture?
Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately after cleaning. Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach or abrasive cleaners. Use coasters, placemats and trivets for hot or wet items. Apply a suitable wood conditioner or wax periodically if recommended.

How should I care for natural rattan?
Dust regularly using a soft cloth or vacuum with a brush attachment. Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight.
Avoid excessive moisture or soaking. Clean spills immediately.

Can I place my furniture outdoors?
Unless specifically designed for outdoor use, our indoor furniture should be kept indoors or in fully sheltered areas. Direct exposure to rain, harsh sunlight and excessive humidity may shorten its lifespan.

Can I place hot items directly on the surface?
We recommend using trivets or protective mats. Extreme heat may damage wood finishes, marble sealers and other natural surfaces.

Delivery & Assembly

Do you provide delivery and installation?
Yes. Our experienced delivery team will professionally deliver, assemble and position your furniture in your home.

Are there delivery charges?
Delivery charges depend on the delivery location, item size and accessibility. Any applicable charges will be clearly stated in your quotation.

What should I prepare before delivery?
Please ensure that:
Lift and doorway access are sufficient.
Staircase access is available if required.
The intended location is cleared.
Measurements have been checked before confirming your order.

Rooma is not responsible for items that cannot fit through lifts, staircases or doorways due to incorrect measurements provided by the customer.

Warranties

Do your furniture pieces come with a warranty?
Yes. We provide a 12-month limited structural warranty against manufacturing defects under normal residential use.

The warranty covers:
Structural integrity.
Manufacturing workmanship.
Faulty construction.
The warranty does not cover:
Normal wear and tear.
Natural movement of solid wood.
Hairline cracks caused by seasonal humidity changes.
Natural colour variation or ageing.
Scratches, dents or accidental damage.
Damage caused by misuse, improper care or exposure to water, direct sunlight or extreme environments.

Returns & Exchanges

Can I return or exchange my furniture?
As most of our furniture is handcrafted or made to order, customised items cannot be returned or exchanged unless there is a manufacturing defect.

For ready-stock items, please contact us within the stated period if you experience any issues, and we will assess each case individually.

Sustainability

Where is your furniture made?
Our furniture is handcrafted by skilled artisans using responsibly sourced materials wherever possible. We work closely with trusted workshops that share our commitment to quality craftsmanship and ethical production.

Why choose solid wood instead of engineered wood?
Solid wood furniture is designed to last for generations. Unlike engineered alternatives, it can often be repaired, refinished and restored, making it a more sustainable long-term investment.

Our Approach

At Rooma, we celebrate the beauty of natural materials. Every piece tells its own story through its grain, texture and gentle ageing over time.

Rather than viewing these characteristics as imperfections, we believe they are what make handcrafted furniture timeless, authentic and uniquely yours.
